“But if they repent, establish prayer, and give zakat, then they are your brothers in religion; and We detail the verses for a people who know.” (Quran 9:11)

“And those who do not offer their Salah (prayers), except lazily, and do not give in charity, (they will find that) they will have a painful punishment.” (Quran 74:43)

“And so woe unto those performers of prayer who are neglectful of their prayers, those who make show (of their deeds) and refuse (to give) small kindnesses” (Quran 107:4-7)

“Indeed, the hypocrites [think to] deceive Allah , but He is deceiving them. And when they stand for prayer, they stand lazily, showing [themselves to] the people and not remembering Allah except a little.” (Quran 4:142)

These verses and many others in the Quran make it clear that not performing the obligatory prayers is considered a serious sin in Islam and that those who neglect their prayers will face severe consequences in this life and the afterlife
