Privacy Policy
Qurania is an online Quran education service for children. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Last updated: 22 August 2026.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to arrange and teach your child's lessons: your name and contact details, and your child's first name, age, and learning level.
- This website itself sends nothing anywhere: no analytics, no advertising trackers, no cookies, no third-party scripts. The booking form on this site is not transmitted to a server — it is handed to you, and you send it.
- Lesson communication happens on WhatsApp (or Facebook Messenger, if you prefer). When you press send, those platforms receive your message under their own privacy policies.
- Children's information is collected only from a parent or guardian, used only for teaching, and deleted on request.
What we collect and why
1. Information you give us on this website
The free-trial form asks for a parent's name, the child's age, current learning level, preferred Qari, a contact number, and an email address. This website has no server and no database: the form exists only in your browser. When you press "Book My Free Trial Lesson", your browser opens WhatsApp (or our Facebook page) with those details pre-filled into a message draft. Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp or Messenger — and you can edit the draft before it goes.
2. Information you give us when you enroll
If you continue after the trial, we keep: the parent's name and contact details; the child's first name, age, and learning level; lesson schedules; and milestone progress notes. We do not ask for copies of identity documents, payment card numbers over chat, or any information about the child beyond what teaching requires.
3. Information we do not collect
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no advertising or social pixels, and does not use device fingerprinting. We do not knowingly collect information from a child directly — enrollment is always initiated by a parent or guardian.
The WhatsApp handoff, explained
Our booking flow uses WhatsApp's click-to-chat: the details you typed are placed into a WhatsApp message draft on your own device. When you send it, the message is processed by WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) under the WhatsApp Privacy Policy, and delivered to Qurania's staff phones. If you choose the Facebook page instead, Meta processes that conversation under the Meta Privacy Policy. We recommend never sending payment card details through chat — we will never ask for them there.
Children's privacy
Our students are children, so children's privacy law shapes how we operate:
- Parental consent first. We collect a child's information only from a parent or guardian, and only to the extent needed to teach the child.
- United States (COPPA): we provide direct parental notice of our practices on this page and obtain verifiable parental consent before lessons begin. Parents may review or delete their child's information at any time.
- United Kingdom (UK GDPR & ICO Children's Code): the child's data is collected via the parent as the account holder; we apply the best interests of the child standard — data minimisation, no behavioural profiling, no nudge techniques aimed at children.
- Canada (PIPEDA) and Australia (Privacy Act): we rely on parental consent and collect only what a reasonable person would consider appropriate for teaching a child.
How your information is used and stored
We use your details to: arrange and deliver lessons; match your child with a Qari; send lesson schedules and milestone reports; and handle billing questions. We do not sell or rent personal information, ever. We do not use your information for advertising. Access inside Qurania is limited to the founder and your child's Qari. Lesson records are kept in private accounts accessible only to those staff, protected by two-factor authentication.
How long we keep it
Trial enquiries that do not enroll are deleted within 90 days. For enrolled families we keep lesson and progress records while your child is enrolled, and delete them within 12 months of the last lesson — unless you ask us to delete sooner, which we will do within 30 days.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to: tell you what we hold about your family; give you a copy; correct it; delete it; or stop using it. Email privacy@qurania.io and we will respond within 30 days. UK and EU residents may also complain to the ICO; Australian residents to the OAIC; Canadian residents to the OPC — but we would appreciate the chance to fix the problem first.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially, we will tell enrolled families directly by WhatsApp or email before the change takes effect. This page's "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
